Starting from August 2015, Online Canada Visa or Canada eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is required for tourists visiting Canada for business, transit or tourism visits under six months.
Canada eTA is a new entry requirement for foreign nationals from visa-exempt countries who are planning to enter Canada by air. This online travel authorisation is linked electronically to your passport and is valid for a period of five years.
Passport holders from the eligible countries/territories must apply online for Canada eTA atleast 72 hours prior to the date of arrival.
Citizens and Permanent Residents of the United States do not require Canada Electronic Travel Authorization. US citizens and Green card holders do not need a Canada Visa or Canada eTA to travel to Canada.
